A New Product

Situation
You work for a medium-sized company that produces food products.
Recently, your company has come up with a new product: fruit-flavored
toothpaste for kids. You have been asked to come up with a name for
the product and some ideas for marketing it.
With your partner(s), brainstorm some ideas and decide which are best.
Come up with a shortlist of three ideas.

Participants:

  • Sarah: Marketing Person
  • Mike: Product Manager
  • Emily: Sales Representive

Location: Company Meeting Room

[Sarah, Mike, and Emily are sitting together talking about the new fruity toothpaste for kids.]

Sarah: Hi everyone! Our new job is to think up a cool name and ways to tell everyone about our fruity toothpaste for kids. Any ideas?

Mike: How about calling it “BerryBlast SmileGuard”? It’s catchy and tells kids it’s fruity and protects their teeth.

Emily: Yeah, that sounds good! Kids like fun stuff. What if we put a puzzle or something fun on the toothpaste tube to make it interesting for them?

Sarah: Awesome idea! Kids will notice it more if it’s fun. What if we name it “TuttiFrutti FreshSmile”? It’s easy to remember and sounds fun too.

Mike: Nice one! We could also ask kids to share their happy smiles using our toothpaste on social media. That could get people excited about it.

Emily: What if we team up with dentists or schools? We could sponsor events about teeth and give out our toothpaste samples there.

Sarah: That’s smart! Working with dentists and schools will help us reach more kids. Let’s make a list of three names: “BerryBlast SmileGuard,” “TuttiFrutti FreshSmile,” and maybe “FruitFizz SparklePaste.” Then, we can plan how to put them in cool packages and tell everyone about them.

Mike: Sounds good! Let’s meet again to plan things out more. I’ll start thinking about the packaging.
